Mr Whittaker
Thirty-five years ago, Mr. Whittaker took a bold step by purchasing a hardware store in the quaint community of Mōkau. As he began the process of setting up shop, he stumbled upon a treasure trove hidden behind the drawers he was meticulously cleaning out. There, nestled within the clutter, he found an array of documents, photographs, and memorabilia that told stories of the area's history and its past inhabitants.
Recognizing the significance of these artifacts, Mr. Whittaker decided to showcase them by pinning them to the walls of his hardware store. What began as a small, personal endeavor quickly captured the attention and interest of his customers. Visitors to the store were intrigued by the tales these documents unraveled, and they began to contribute to the collection by bringing in their own photographs and historical items, eager to share their stories and preserve the community's heritage.
